This 40 hours course is run as per the guidelines of IMO Model course 1.27 and gives the officers knowledge and practice on the operational use of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) equipment in accordance with the requirements of the STCW convention '78 as amended in 1995.

Proper Navigaton is a key function in the conduct of safe voyages between ports.

ECDIS is a powerful tool available to mariners but its proper use requires extensive training. This training course provides the navigating officer knowledge and practice in the safe operation of ECDIS equipment, proper use of various types of ECDIS related information and knowledge of the capability and limitations of Electronic Chart Systems.

On successful completion of the course the officer will be able to independently operate an ECDIS and update ENC Corrections as required. 70% of the course involves hands-on practice on real ECDIS equipment connected to the fullmission bridge simulator with practical exercises performed in various dense traffic areas.

2nd MATE FG COURSE

This 4 months course is run as per the guidelines of IMO Model course 7.03

1. ENTRY STANARDS: Comply with the eligibility criteria specified in Rule 13 of M.S. (STCW) Rules 1998 and Section M-II/1 of META Manual Vol.I (Refer to MS Notices 8 of 1998 and 2 of 1999).

2. NAME OF COURSE: SECOND MATE FOREIGN GOING

3. COURSE DURATION: 4 Months

ADVANCED FIREFIGHTING COURSE

This 5 days course is run as per the guidelines of IMO Model Course – 2.03

Aims: The course aims to provide the training in advanced fire fighting in accordance with section A-VI/3 of the STCW code. This syllabus covers the requirements of the STCW Convention Chapter VI, Section A-VI/3, table A-VI/1- 3. On meeting the minimum standard of competence in advanced fire fighting, a trainee will be competent to take command, organize and train fire parties and control fire-fighting operations.

1. ENTRY STANARDS: The course is open to all seafarers who have completed basic training in fire prevention. All trainees must be certified by a doctor to be in good health.

2. NAME OF COURSE: ADVANCED FIREFIGHTING TRAINING

3. COURSE DURATION: 5 Days

4. COURSE FEES: 5000 Rs

Advanced Firefighting Refresher Course

Refresher Training for Basic and Advanced Safety Courses related to Fire Fighting and Survival Training as per Section A- VI/3 & Section A- VI/1-2 of STCW 2010

1. ENTRY STANARDS: The course is open to all seafarers who have completed Advanced Firefighting training. All trainees must be certified by a doctor to be in good health.

2. NAME OF COURSE: ADVANCED FIREFIGHTING REFRESHER TRAINING

3. COURSE DURATION: 1 DAY

4. COURSE FEES: 3500 Rs

Officer In Charge of a Navigational Watch (Near Coastal Voyages) (NWKO       NCV) COURSE

Basic Details of the Course

Aims: This course covers part of the education and training required under Regulation II/1 (NCV) and aims to meet the standards of competence specified in Section A-II /1 (NCV) of the STCW 95. Appendix M-II/5C of META Manual Vol. II used in the preparation of material for this course.

Objectives: The objective of this course is to prepare a candidate to appear for the examinations of Certificate of Competency as NWKO (NCV).

1. ENTRY STANARDS: Entry Candidates must comply with the eligibility criteria specified in Rule 17 of M.S. (STCW) Rules 1998 and Section M-II/5 of META Manual Vol. I. All trainees must be certified by a doctor to be in good health.
